I'm wondering at the logic

As mentioned in my last post, today is a rather momentous day - our 20th wedding anniversary. Thank you, Lord, for happy days!

I sometimes think that Matt takes me far too literally. At lunch the other day I cooked rice pasta and leftover bolognaise sauce for Matt and me. I spooned it into two bowls and Matt complained that his was very hot. I suggested that he put it into the fridge for a while to cool down. He did this and left it for a few minutes but still complained it was too hot. I was pre-occupied with eating my own lunch and listening to Mike and the conversation went like this:

Me: Put it on a plate and put it in the fridge for a few minutes.

Matt: How will that help?

Me: It increases the surface area so the heat escapes.

Matt: Okay

After a few more minutes Matt removed his lunch from the fridge and still complained it was too hot. Then I realised why. This is what he had done with his hot lunch:

Ratios

For only the second time in almost 20 years (next Wednesday) of married life my Hubby did not eat all of his dinner. I figured that he must be ill. Especially when the doctor said his lungs sounded like a smoker's when he has never smoked in his life.

This means he has lost a little weight and is now about 80 kg. Despite my stomach ills I've managed to gain a little and am almost 50 kg.

My brain just knew that there was some relationship between 5 and 8 and I figured it out and said to Hubby, "If you are a mile then I am a kilometre."

Such a romantic comment after 20 years of marriage.

Constructions

Matt and Mike have been busy with the Lego just lately. I am reminding myself that one day the house will not have Lego everywhere. They both managed a rather impressive looking castle and here's just one section of it. I am thinking that I would not like to be a stablehand doing the mucking out at this particular castle:
.

A little earlier this year I suggested Mike make a pyramid with Lego when we were studying the pyramids of Egypt. I had intended that it would be a fairly small pyramid just to get the idea. I didn't bank on Matt's obsessions. Here is the pyramid:

Matt told me that it took exactly 1193 pieces of Lego to build it. The top part looks a little odd due to some improvisation with blocks to get it finished. I did not point that out to Matt. He would not sleep at night.

The latest Q son construction involves making the Empire State Building. Mike told me today that it was 54 centimetres high so far. At least while all the blocks are in the building they are not scattered all over the floor.

I remember once picking up some toys in our family room and Mike asked, "Are you vacuuming the floors today?"

My response was, "No, Mike, I just want to be able to see the floor."
