SINKS MUMMY

A lovely day

Today turned out really nice. After a good four days of term 2 we decided to leave the algebra and grammar behind and go to see the Mummy exhibition. I really recommend it to anyone who's in the vicinity in the next four months. It's awesome to see something that's 4000 years old (a coffin). Hubby remarked at how well preserved it was. Mike, who's fascinated by anything to do with Ancient Egypt, had a wonderful time. Matt seemed to enjoy it too, especially as it meant avoiding the algebra.

On the way out through the souvenir shop Hubby spotted a mug with my name on it and insisted on buying it for me:

After having lunch with Anika we headed home. She now lives with other girls closer to uni and work. Well, at least to work nowdays. Sadly, glandular fever has put uni study on hold for a semester or two. We decided to stop into a shop to look at a stove I've had my eye on for a while. It was advertised in the junk mail at $100 off. When we got there we found out that this particular store had taken another $300 off to clear stock to make way for some new display. The salesman was surprised to realise that he sold the stove in less than 60 seconds.

It just happened this afternoon that the oven handle broke off the old stove. The new one arrives tomorrow and gets installed on Monday. It will be nice to have a fan-forced oven with a glass door so that I no longer have to open the oven to see how the cakes are rising.

I'm off to have a hot chocolate from my personalised mug.
